Our Mission

HMEA affirms and promotes the values, dreams and potential of people with developmental disabilities through education, support and life experiences.

Hi Everyone...

ARE YOU READY for another fun-filled family day at HMEA's Annual Walk/Run in the Park? We sure do hope you plan to join us on Sunday, May 18, 2008 at EMC2 Corporation field in the Franklin Industrial Park .

This is our 7th anniversary, and we are so excited about welcoming back the many families, friends, staff, businesses and neighbors who have helped to make this a PREMIER annual event...and we're really looking forward to meeting some new friends this year!

Here are some links

for you...

You can do something really special this year! By participating in this event you will be helping to make a difference in someone's life! Your support will help HMEA provide critical programs and services to 2000 children and adults with disabilities living in Massachusetts ...and you, your family, your friends, and neighbors will get the benefit of 'Getting Fit'!

Start making your plans to walk or run on…

 Sunday, May 18, 2008!

AND we've made it easy...

First, you have to register...if you're planning to participate in the walk simply visit our complimentary online website www.firstgiving.com/hmea (see links on left)! Then register yourself or organize your team - ask your co-workers, your family, friends, neighbors, club members, teachers, EVERYONE you know to join your team! Set a fundraising goal, pick a team name (be creative, add a theme, design your own tee shirts, wear hats, signs -- most of all HAVE FUN -- show your spirit!).

Now, it's time to create your TEAM or personal fundraising web page and e-mail it to all your donors. Let them know why you’re walking and ask for their support. Tell them they can make a secure, online, tax-deductible contribution that will help you and your team reach your goal!  It's that simple!

Founded in 1961, HMEA is a 501c3 non-profit agency providing supports to 2000 children and adults with developmental disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy  and mental retardation in over 110 Massachusetts communities.
