Our Philosophy
At HMEA, we provide a supportive, cooperative working environment for our employees. We seek out
those who demonstrate caring and compassion, and who share our values. We believe that people who
are respected will be respectful of others. We celebrate the differences among us, and encourage
learning and professional growth. We offer comprehensive training and are committed to promotion
from within.
Our Benefits
We believe that salary must be competitive and appropriate to the job. However, total compensation
includes many other components as well. At HMEA, the total compensation package is extremely
generous and demonstrates the value that we place on our employees. We offer the following:
Professional Development
We believe that employees who are constantly learning and growing are the most satisfied, and,
therefore, the best employees. Our comprehensive training program includes certification in medication
administration, CPR, First Aid, behavior management, crisis intervention, and Sign Language, in addition
to many other professional development trainings.
In cooperation with Simmons College, we offer a graduate program for those who wish to earn their
Master’s Degrees in Behavioral Education or an Educational Specialist degree for those who already hold
Master’s Degrees.
For those students who attend state schools while earning undergraduate degrees, we participate in the
state tuition remission program. Attend a state college, take as many courses in as many subjects as
you’d like, and pay no tuition.
For those who are earning an Associate's, Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, we offer an
extremely generous tuition reimbursement program. Attend the college of your choice, and be reimbursed
at a generous rate for four courses per year. There is no limit on the number of years you may be
eligible.
