HMEA's Family Partnership Program 

For Children

The Family Partnership Program is a full-year, less restrictive residential option for school aged children with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges. The children live in homes with highly skilled and trained providers. Services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each child. These homes are located in and around the child's local school district.

Benefits

  • Skilled providers, coordinators and clinicians trained in using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies to increase skills and decrease maladaptive behaviors

  • Continuous on-site monitoring of providers homes based on Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) licensure and HMEA's regulations

  • Need specific support in a nurturing, therapeutic home environment

  • Access to a full menu of community services (medical, psychiatric, counseling) specific to the student's needs

  • Increases likelihood of transition back to family

  • Enhances family interaction and involvement - families remain involved in all decision making for their child

  • Continuous communication between school, provider's and child's family allowing consistency between all environments

  • Clinical consultation to child, family and provider's

  • Individualized services can be provided for less money than traditional residential placements

  • Strong commitment and reputation for ensuring open communication with schools, families and related team members

There is documented history in children's services indicating that highly specialized individual services will lead to success for children who have not been successful in traditional services.
